Jones: Private Harold Elton (86177)

Harold Elton Jones was born on 22 September 1898 at Ellwood, Gloucestershire, son of Harold Jones (1865-1931), a coal miner, and Elizabeth Mary (formerly Blanch) (1862-1944) of Ellwood House, Ellwood.

No military service records survive for Harold Elton Jones, no Medal Index Card which would confirm overseas service, and no Silver War Badge record. A Pension Record Card states that he was discharged on 2 September 1920 suffering with pulmonary tuberculosis attributable to his military service.

Harold Elton Jones died on 4 November 1920, aged 22 years, and was buried at Clearwell Church Cemetery.
