10th Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment

Frederick Thomas James Parslow was born in Blaisdon in 1877, son of David Parslow (1848-1915), sub-postmaster of Blaisdon, and Elizabeth Parslow (formerly Mabbett) (1847-1937).
He was a coachbuilder and carpenter by trade and also a bellringer and chorister at Blaisdon Church.
Frederick died of wounds at Edinburgh War Hospital, Bangour on 18 December 1916, aged 39 years, and was buried at Blaisdon (St Michael) Churchyard on 23 December.
A CWGC headstone now marks his grave.
The war gratuity of £3, paid to his mother, indicates that he had twelve months, or less, service.
